The HZGQ-S High Voltage Bridge Burn-Through Instrument emits a DC constant-current voltage. When insulation is not conductive, it forms a point heat source that alters the insulation condition, thereby achieving the ideal test state. Extensive field practice has proven this method highly effective in resolving joint failures and other difficult fault scenarios.
The HZGQ-S is primarily used for burn-through of insulation defects and high-resistance leakage faults in high-voltage cables. It significantly reduces the insulation resistance at defect points and high-resistance fault points to meet fault testing conditions (full discharge can be achieved by applying high-voltage pulses). It can also serve as a DC high-voltage power supply for DC withstand voltage testing of cables, capacitors, motors, bushings, and similar equipment. This DC withstand voltage capability is especially suitable for power cables with high-resistance fault points, effectively lowering the resistance at the fault location.
